(segreteria@collio.it). The candidacies which will arrive after the deadline can compete for the 2016 edition. Regarding its journalistic section, the Prize will feature this year two different contests, one for the Italian press and the other one for the foreign press. The prize for both sections amounts to 1.000 euros.

The Collio Prize is organized by the Consortium For The Protection of Wines from Collio, in collaboration with the University of Udine, MIB School of Management and ARGA Friuli Venezia Giulia and it celebrates every year the memory of Count Sigismondo Douglas Attems of Petzenstein.

Collio is an Italian wine area, which is famous all over the world for its great white wines. It is located in the northeast of Italy, in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea. The denomination DOC Collio stretches for 1500 hectares with hills, small hamlets, vineyards and natural reserves. Collio is a land of white wines, both local (such as Friulano, Ribolla Gialla and Collio Bianco) and international varieties (such as Chardonnay and Sauvignon), with a distinctive feature: the minerality which is typical of the terroir. Care and love of the winemakers have created high quality DOC wines that are prestigious for their aromas, fragrances, intensity, structure and persistence.
