After the honour was bestowed on "Mâcon Wines” in 2009, the Saint-Véran appellation will host the 74th “Saint-Vincent Tournante de Bourgogne” festival in the village of Prissé, on 27 and 28 January 2018, under the presidency of Kévin TESSIEUX.

The St. Vincent Tournante Festival hosted for the first time by Saint-Véran

Saint-Véran, a “Village de Bourgogne” appellation located in the Saône-et-Loire department a few kilometres from Macon, has accepted the proposal put forward by the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, Burgundy’s wine brotherhood.  For the first time in its history, the appellation will therefore be hosting the St. Vincent Tournante Festival, in the commune of Prissé, on 27 and 28 January 2018. One of the youngest appellations of the Maconnais wine region, Saint-Véran will be the appellation of honour over the festival weekend, giving it the opportunity to showcase its Climats* currently seeking recognition as “Premier Cru de Bourgogne”.

*Plots of land that have been precisely demarcated and named for centuries and which have their own history and specific geological/climatic characteristics.

A St. Vincent Tournante Festival which blends Tradition, Modernity and Solidarity

The St. Vincent Tournante Festival is a traditional Burgundy wine festival, which has been held each year since 1938, and the Saint-Véran appellation decided to respect its customs, but organize it in a way that reflects its own image: that of modernity and solidarity!

The patron of the 74th edition will be the half French-half Welsh singer and guitarist, Michael Jones, in association with the Restos du Coeur charity, which will receive some of the profits.

There will also be a focus on sustainable development. As the St. Vincent festival is an ephemeral event, Saint-Véran has decided to create all the festival decorations from recyclable materials or materials adapted from their primary use.  Sebastien Chambru (“Meilleur Ouvrier de France”, Restaurant L'O des Vignes in Fuissé) has been selected to create the banquet menu in collaboration with caterers, Mille & 1 Saveurs.
